Our Mission
Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
Founded in 1915 in Detroit, Michigan, Kiwanis International is comprised today of more than 550,000 members from K-Kids, Key Club and Kiwanis in 80 countries and geographic areas. Each community has different needs, and Kiwanis empowers members to pursue creative ways to serve the needs of children, such as fighting hunger, improving literacy and offering guidance.
Our History
Our Kiwanis club was chartered in November 1978 and is comprised of 25 men and women of diverse backgrounds. We are one of six Kiwanis clubs in Division 13 of the Kiwanis Florida District, and a member of Kiwanis International, which serves the United States and more than 80 other countries.
We meet every Tuesday at 7:30 AM at the Lurie Civic / Seminole Area Chamber of Commerce building (SPC Seminole campus), 9200 113th Street, Seminole, FL 33772. We invite you to come visit us and see what our service club is all about.
We are also involved in several outreach projects, including:
- Clothes to Kids
- Seminole Chamber’s Teacher Appreciation Recognition
- Horses for Handicapped program
- Salvation Army Bell Ringing
- Operation: Military Matters
- Local interfaith community food pantry
- Wreaths Across America
- Ready For Life
- Shriner’s wheelchairs for kids (collect pop top tabs)
Our club is passionate about making a positive difference. Helping kids grow and succeed is at the heart of everything we do. But how we do it is just as important. We believe our neighborhoods and our world are best served when people of all ages and different backgrounds work together to share their time and talents. Join us and experience the fun, teamwork and personal satisfaction in helping others.

Who We Are
KIWANIS BREAKFAST CLUB OF SEMINOLE IS A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS WHO, THROUGH VARIOUS SERVICE PROJECTS, MEET THE KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL MISSION
It is our belief that volunteer service helps improve the lives of children and the community in which we live.
The Kiwanis Breakfast Club of Seminole projects include sponsorship of BUG programs which focus on education, goal setting and grades, increase literacy by reading to and providing children free books, help develop young leaders with our sponsorship of two elementary school K-Kids Clubs, assist the Salvation Army with their annual Holiday bell ringing, support Special Olympics, and many more worthy causes promoting our community youth.
The Kiwanis Breakfast Club of Seminole is a group of men and women who are passionate about giving back to the community.
The six permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis club delegates at the 1924 Convention in Denver, Colorado.
- To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
- To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
- To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
- To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
- To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
- To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.
Mission Statement – which our club recites during each meeting every Tuesday:
